WireCrafters Takes the Plunge for a Great Cause

At WireCrafters, we’re always up for a challenge—whether it’s creating top-tier safety solutions or braving icy waters for a great cause! This year, our team participated in the Polar Plunge, an event dedicated to supporting Special Olympics Kentucky.

Our fearless participants—David Fishburn, Brandon Green, Erik Johnson, Dwight Maddox, David Shearn, and Matthew Sohl—took the plunge, quite literally, into freezing waters to raise funds for a meaningful mission. Together, the team raised nearly $2,000, benefiting year-round sports training and competitions for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

What Does the Polar Plunge Support?

The Polar Plunge is more than just a cold-weather thrill—it’s a fundraising event that directly impacts thousands of athletes across Kentucky. The funds raised help provide:

  • Sports Training: Offering athletes of all abilities the opportunity to develop their skills and compete in various sports.
  • Health Screenings & Wellness Programs: Ensuring athletes access proper healthcare and fitness programs.
  • Inclusion & Community Engagement: Promoting social interaction, confidence-building, and a sense of belonging through sports.
  • Free Participation for Athletes: Special Olympics never charges athletes or their families to participate, making fundraising efforts like the Polar Plunge critical to sustaining these programs.

We are proud of our team’s dedication to making a difference in our community, not just in the workplace. Thank you to everyone who donated and supported the cause!
