Aerosol storage cages are designed to provide a secure and safe storage solution for aerosol cans. By storing aerosol cans in a cage, you reduce the risk of accidental punctures, leaks, or explosions, which can lead to serious injuries and property damage.

Aerosol Cage Durability

Aerosol storage cages are made from 1-1⁄2” Square 8 Gauge Woven or Welded Wire Mesh, making them durable and long-lasting. This means that you can rely on your storage cage to protect your aerosol cans & employees for many years to come.

Aerosol Storage Cages: Flexible Configurations

The flexibility of WireCrafters Style 840 Wire Partitions makes it possible to construct an aerosol storage cage of any size or shape. The aerosol cage can have a free spanning ceiling up to 30′ or a ceiling of any size with vertical support tubes. Panels can also be stacked to any height so that the cage can be tied into the facility’s existing walls and ceiling. All of our slide and hinge doors can be made self-closing and accessible with a card reader or ten digit keypad with the installation of an electric strike or mag lock.

Aerosol Cage Compliance

2023 NFPA -30B Code for the Manufacture and Storage of Aerosol Products

7.4.5.3.2 Chain-link fencing shall extend from the floor to the underside of the roof deck or ceiling and shall meet the following requirements:

(1) The total floor area of the segregated Level 2 Aerosol, Level 3 Aerosol, Plastic Aerosol 2, and Plastic Aerosol 3 Product storage area(s) shall not exceed 20 percent of the total area of the warehouse, up to a maximum of 1,830 m2 (20,000 ft2).

(2) Fencing shall not be lighter than 2.9 mm (9 gauge) steel wire woven into a maximum 50 mm (2 in.) diamond mesh.

(3) Storage of commodities whose hazard exceeds that of a Class III commodity, as defined by NFPA 13 shall be kept outside of the segregated area and at least 2.4 m (8 ft) from the fence, except as allowed by 7.4.5.7.

(4) The area of the design for the required ceiling sprinkler system shall extend 6 m (20 ft) beyond the segregated area.

(5) cA minimum of two personnel exits shall be provided.

(6) All openings in the fencing shall be provided with self-closing or automatic-closing gates or shall be protected with a labyrinth arrangement.

(7) Where automatic-closing gates are used, manual closure actuating devices shall be provided adjacent to the opening to allow for manual closure of the gates.
