Securing Pallet Rack Storage for New Equipment
Project Overview:
Sandvik required a secure way to store new equipment within an existing pallet rack system without sacrificing accessibility or visibility. To meet this need, WireCrafters worked alongside Carolina Material Handling to design and install a rack enclosure solution that provided controlled access while maximizing the use of available rack space. The result was a practical and durable enclosure that enhanced security for valuable equipment while integrating seamlessly into Sandvik’s warehouse environment.
Customer Description
The application focused on creating a secure, lockable area for pallets of new equipment being introduced into a new operation. Although the customer already had a pallet rack system that could accommodate the equipment, there was no way to control or restrict access to it. WireCrafters’ rack enclosures paired with rack doors solved this challenge by allowing the existing rack system to remain fully functional while adding security. The double swing doors were designed at 12' high by 4.5' wide each to accommodate a 9' wide pallet rack section. The doors meet in the center and can be secured with a padlock through hasps on the cage doors, keeping materials safe and accessible only to authorized personnel. This solution also allows forklift access when needed, balancing security and efficiency.
