Protecting a Palletizing Cell with RapidGuard® II
Project Overview:
Stac Material Handling partnered with WireCrafters to deliver a reliable, efficient machine-guarding solution for Stac Robotics, a leading provider of palletizing automation. At the center of this project was our RapidGuard® II System, designed to safeguard a palletizing robot cell inside a busy manufacturing facility. The goal was to enhance employee safety, maintain smooth production flow, and meet strict protection standards while supporting the customer’s growing automation needs.
Customer Description
The customer needed a guarding solution that could support a complex palletizing operation without disrupting workflow. Their robot cell required controlled entry points and clear protective boundaries while still allowing operators and equipment to move safely and efficiently. The system had to accommodate an infeed conveyor, multiple outbound pallet conveyor lines, and a designated pallet loading area, all while maintaining full compliance with safety requirements. They also needed a guard system that could integrate seamlessly with light curtains to ensure proper shutdown and restart. The challenge was finding a solution that balanced accessibility with dependable protection in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
