When DeSales High School, an all boys Catholic high school located a few miles away in Louisville, had an outdoor concession stand vandalized, they called WireCrafters to provide wire mesh window guards over their two service windows. The vandals broke out the windows of the concession stand to gain free access to the food and drink inside. WireCrafters, being the nation's largest wire partition manufacturer with strong ties to our local community, decided to come up with a custom solution.

Protecting our Community

WireCrafters went on location to DeSales High School and noted the dimensions of the two concession stand windows. WireCrafters then recommended a hinged door to cover the left half of the window that people are served from, and a fixed wire partition panel to cover the right half. WireCrafters RapidWire™ product was the best choice of mesh for the job. RapidWire™ is a  2" x 2" square, 10 gauge welded wire mesh.   This industrial grade mesh is welded into a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" x 1/8"  hot rolled angle. This frame provides a strong, rigid barrier and deters vandals from attempting to break inside the concession stand.

The welded wire window guards were outfitted with two padlock lugs which were welded on the top and bottom of the window guards for added security. WireCrafters then provided an outdoor grade, black powder coat finish to the window guarding in order to withstand the unpredictable weather (such as rain, heat, and snow) of the Ohio Valley.
