Good Morning & welcome to the 5th Episode of Monday’s With Milt. You know, today is Memorial Day. This is the day that we honor all of those American Soldiers that have died while serving our country. Now did you know that in 1868 this day was called Decoration Day? On that day they would decorate all the graves of the Union soldiers from the American Civil War. Well the Southern states did not like that & they did not celebrate Decoration Day. In fact, different states had different dates that they would honor the fallen soldiers.

Well after World War I, that’s when the country united & decided let’s have 1 day, we’re going to call it Memorial Day & that’s when we will honor all of our American Soldiers who have died serving the country in all the wars that we’ve been in. So that’s what we’ve got for Memorial Day, let’s make it a teaching moment. Maybe you can tell your spouse, your children or your grandchildren what Memorial Day is about & how we should honor the fallen soldiers. Thank You & we’ll see you next Monday for Monday’s With Milt.
